Functional Adaptive Skills Teaching (FAST)
The FAST program utilizes a trainer-to-trainer model that focuses on teaching children self-help and independent living skills, daily routines, and the generalization of, as well as, maintaining learned skills and concepts at home and in the community. This program facilitates the transference of the training/teaching skills to the parents and/or caregivers over time. Parents and/or caregivers will learn effective skills teaching and behavior management strategies. Parent training and participation are critical components for the maintenance of treatment gains and contributes to successful transition from the in-home program.
